We are so sorry to announce that due to the ongoing and rapidly changing COVID-19 circumstances, we will not be holding the April 19 Steinway Piano Series concert featuring Sergei Babayan.
We have a silver lining, however! In a stroke of creativity and good fortune, our Artistic Director Rachelle McCabe was able to book Babayan for the exact same weekend next spring, and he will be performing for us on April 18, 2021. This is in addition to a full 2020-21 Steinway Piano Series season! Please stay tuned for further details.
If you already hold tickets for Babayan on April 19, we will honor these for the 2021 concert. You may also contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for a full refund—please leave your name, address, e-mail, and whether you purchased your tickets online or by mail.
We hope you are taking care of yourselves and staying well. You are always a spectacular audience, and we are so grateful for your flexibility and generosity during these difficult times. We look forward to sharing wonderful piano music with you on the other side of these tribulations. In the meantime, please enjoy Sergei Babayan and his protégé Daniil Trifonov performing Rachmaninoff’s Suite No. 2 for Two Pianos. Thank you!
Sergei Babayan is one of the leading pianists of our time. Hailed for his emotional intensity, bold energy, and remarkable levels of color, he brings a deep understanding and insight to an exceptionally diverse repertoire. Le Figaro has praised his “unequaled touch, perfectly harmonious phrasing and breathtaking virtuosity.” Le Devoir (Montreal) put it simply: “Sergei Babayan is a genius. Period.”
